Sigma Contracting plans to immediately break ground on a 4-acre parcel to develop the site work and the first retail building consisting of 14,000 square feet at the NWC of McKellips Road and Stapley Drive in Mesa. The $2.1 million contract was awarded to Sigma Contracting on June 22nd. Site work begins July 9th, 2007. The site is owned by Venture Development Group out of Las Vegas, NV.
Dan Hinkson, president of Sigma Contracting, a Scottsdale, AZ-based company, says the $2.1 million project will take approximately six months to build. He expects that the project will be 100% leased when it opens in early 2008. Tenants already committing to the space are: Maui Wow!, Inc., Quizno's Sub, and TCF National Bank AZ. The retail space is being marketed by Kurt Kalocin, Bryan Lamond and Larry Zebe of De Rito Partners.
"This new development helps to compliment other recent developments at this intersection." Hinkson explains, "Looker and Cappello Architects designed the center to blend with the character of the area and uses of the center will be compatible with the surrounding neighborhood becoming an asset to the community. All buildings on the site will share a common design theme, material and color palette to compliment the surrounding subdivision."

Sigma Contracting Inc. was recently awarded the tenant improvement contract for the Gold's Gym in Avondale, AZ.
The Gold's Gym is located in Palm Valley master-planned community, and is part of 112,000 square feet of single story neighborhood shopping center situated at the NEC of Thomas and Dysart Roads in Avondale, Arizona. The center is on a 14 acre site which is being developed by NAC Development Company, and has an anticipated schedule for completion of late 2007.
The existing shell building is constructed with perimeter masonry bearing walls with canopies over the glazed storefronts. Sigma has been contracted to complete the 30,000 square feet of tenant improvements for the Gold's Gym which is the anchor tenant for this development. This Gold's Gym location has 8,500 square feet of area dedicated to open workout, 5,000 square feet set up with cardio equipment and another 2,000 square feet of cardio theatre for those who like to watch various media shows while working out. The facility showcases dedicated space for spin classes, aerobic classes and childcare. Besides luxurious lockers with saunas, the health club also has a proshop, juice bar, tanning beds and a special women's area set aside to allow for a more intimate environment for women to work out and exercise.

Sigma recently collaborated with PDG America Shopping Centers and Robert Kubicek Architects and Associates to complete the development and construction of The Arizona Auto Wash in Phoenix, AZ. The building was designed as a multi-bay auto wash.
The developer, PDG America Shopping Centers is headquartered in Phoenix and owns over three million square feet of anchored retail centers. By creating a highly desirable tenant mix, PDG American consistently maintains an occupancy rate well above industry averages while generating unusually high value for their tenants' rental dollar. PDG is continually expanding its shopping center portfolio by acquisition and new development.
Arizona Auto Wash is located in the Bethany Towne Center which is a 306,000 square foot power center located at the northeast corner of 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. The neighborhoods surrounding Bethany Towne Center have over 200,000 residents in a three-mile radius, making it one of the most densely populated areas in Phoenix. Notable tenants at this center include Denny's, Hi Health, Payless Shoes, Petco, Sonic, Starbucks and Washing Mutual. A Wal-Mart Super Center is the key anchor.

Dan Hinkson, President of Sigma Contracting Inc. a private commercial general contractor, established in 1983, is pleased to announce that the construction of their latest specialty retail project, The Shoppes At Legacy House, a Greenstreet Property is approximately five weeks ahead of schedule. The Shoppes At Legacy House are located on McKellips between Higley and Recker Roads, just south of the 202 Red Mountain Freeway, in Mesa, Arizona.
"The efficiency of our management and subcontractors are the reasons we've been able to meet and often times exceed our difficult and challenging construction schedules" said Jerry Patterson, Sigma's Vice President of Project Management.
The Shoppes At Legacy House consists of approximately 30,000 square feet of specialty retail space. The center is characterized by the presence of natural colors and materials such as stone, wood and glass that accent the centers understated elegance and architecture. With an emphasis on businesses that cater to the neighborhood along with specialty boutique shops, the center will begin tenant improvement work in mid January 2007 and open for business in early March 2007.
The Shoppes At Legacy House is owned and developed by Greenstreet Properties who has hired Sigma Contracting Inc. numerous times as the general contractor on several of their Phoenix projects.

Sigma Contracting Inc. a private commercial general contractor, established in 1983, has been awarded the contract for the construction services for The Salvation Army Phoenix Citadel Renovation project located at 632 North Third Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona. The construction phase is estimated to begin on December 15, 2006.
The renovation and expansion project will include over 15,000 sf of renovation and 5,000 sf of new construction for the chapel and Brass Band performances. The goal is to build a facility which will have a 250 seat sanctuary; additional classrooms, a new multi-purpose room to accommodate new and existing programs that are a part of The Salvation Army's vision for the future. The contract value is approximately $4 million with the project completion slated for fall 2007.
