Lindsey's Update

On July 13th 2007 Lindsey and her boyfriend, Chris Collier (with dogs Marley & Daisy aboard) departed on a long-planned adventure. It was to take them from Arizona through Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, and culminate in Michigan, visiting sites, family, and friends along the way. After spending four fun days with Lindsey's Grandpa in South Dakota, they set off to Michigan to visit Chris's family. Not far from the SD/MN border they were involved in a roll-over accident that resulted in both being transported to the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Chris by ambulance and Lindsey by helicopter. Thankfully, Chris escaped serious injury. Lindsey was admitted to the critical care unit with a serious head injury. The rapid responding trauma unit staff were able to stabilize Lindsey's life threatening injuries, placing her in a medically induced coma in an effort to begin the healing process. Lindsey is out of the coma, however, she is now recovering at Barrow's Neurological Institute in Phoenix. She is improving daily, but still has a long way to go.

Lindsey's family have been receiving requests as to her status and for information on how people can help Lindsey and her family get through this situation. To that end, a website has been set up to provide information on her condition and allow individuals to send them a note, prayers or words of encouragement. The people you least expect can have a life tragically altered without reason. How we choose to react to these realities is the only power we possess.
