Lindsey's Thank YouDecember 3, 2007 To: All that helped on Lindsey’s benefit Lindsey’s benefit event on November 17th was a testament that time really does fly. It is hard to believe that over two weeks have passed since then! The day of the event started out as a typical beautiful Phoenix morning and as the day progressed it only got more and more so as a result of the outpouring of care, concern and willingness to give by so many. As you know, we held the golf and motorcycle ride benefit for Lindsey followed by a lunch and silent auction. We had more than 125 golfers enjoy the day, and the road to Wickenburg rumbled with more than 50 bikers and riders. As the two groups came together at the Buffalo Chip Saloon in Cave Creek they were joined there by another 50 plus who showed up for good food, entertainment, and a chance to win some great prizes – all in support of Lindsey. The entertainment was provided by two great bands, Bob Turner, a close friend of Lindsey’s family that came in from Denver, Colorado and Gelatinous Groove, good friends of both Chris and Lindsey that finished the afternoon off with an acoustic set from their selection of songs. Reg Boynton with the Happy Snapper took countless photos all day long. To cap things off, the day was blessed with perfect Cave Creek Chamber of Commerce weather. The generosity from everyone involved was unbelievable. Some people spent endless hours doing the behind the scenes work it takes to make a day like this successful. Others were very generous with their checkbook and support of their employees, friends or family to allow them to participate. Many others made contributions to the silent auction gifts and raffle prizes. As a group we raised almost $50,000 to help pay for some of Lindsey’s ongoing expenses. On behalf of the entire Sigma crew, and Lindsey’s family, I want to say thank you for supporting this effort. As most of you know, Lindsey is a vibrant and energetic person, and having to go through this tragic experience is quite a challenge for her as well as her care givers. I can’t begin to tell you how much I, and they, appreciate all of your support. There were so many people to visit with that I did not make it around to see everyone, but many of us commented after the event that it was great to visit with so many, even if only for a few minutes. You will be able to view photos of the benefit by going to our website at www.sigmacontracting.com. In addition to our photos, The Happy Snapper has posted his professional quality images on his web site at www.thehappysnapper.com. If you choose to purchase any of his photos, he is donating the proceeds to Lindsey. We were to have had a grand finale live auction item at the silent auction, which in the chaos of the day did not get auctioned off. We have a donation of five days and four night stay in a private, five bedroom/four bathroom beach front home that sleeps up to 12 people in Las Conchas, Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico. We have offered this as an e-mail auction through our newsletter and this website, with a close of bid of March 21st. The winner of this bid will have up to a year ending on November 30, 2008 to redeem the use of the home. If you have an interest in bidding on this item please send in your bid ASAP, by March 21, 2008 to Melinda Hinkson at mhinkson@sigmacontracting.com. Again, while there are many in the world deserving of your support and generosity, thank you for choosing to help us support Lindsey. We know that Lindsey, Chris and her family truly do appreciate your help in making this a very special day for her. We truly appreciate the exceptional relationships we have forged over the years and the quality companies and people with which we are affiliated that allowed us the opportunity to help Lindsey in this way. Enjoy the upcoming holidays and feast in moderation, unless, of course, the food is exceptionally good! Again, thank you. Sincerely, |
