As most of you know, Lindsey began working at Sigma in 2004 in the marketing and business development department. She quickly endeared herself to all with her quick wit, zest for life and sincerity.
On July 13th, 2007, Lindsey and her boyfriend - Chris, with dogs Marley & Daisy aboard, departed on a long-planned adventure. It was to take them from Arizona through Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, and culminate in Michigan, visiting sites, family, and friends along the way.
After spending four fun days with Lindsey's Grandpa in SD, they set off to Michigan to visit Chris's family. Not far from the SD/MN boarder they were involved in a roll-over accident that resulted in both being transported to the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, Chris by ambulance, Lindsey by helicopter. Lindsey was admitted to the critical care unit with a serious head injury. The rapid responding trauma unit staff was able to stabilize Lindsey's life threatening injuries, placing her in a medically induced coma in an effort to begin the healing process.
Thankfully Chris escaped serious injury, and today along with Lindsey's Mom is a staunch supporter and advocate for Lindse's needs. The following updates are excerpts from her Mom's journal entries.
